After the Durga Puja attack lat year a good friend gave us the money to buy a car. If you don't remember that story you can read it here DURGA PUJA STORY. I wrote about 2 months ago that I would write why our door handle was not matching so here it goes. Every February there is a big holiday called shivratri it is to worship the god Shiva. River City is the home of Shiva so you can imagine the parties that go on here. The men carry around snakes and get high. This past year we were driving home from lunch and we were stuck in a traffic jam. I was in the front seat with Jake and E was in her car seat in the back. 2 men on a bike drove by and saw Little E in the back. They stopped there bike and tried to break open the back door to steal her! We always lock the doors just in case, so they could not get them open. Instead they scratched the car and ripped of the door handle and rode away when they figured out they could not get in. "Jake and I looked at each other did this just really happen?" Jake tried to catch them in our car but they turned down a gullies and got away. E was fine slept through the whole thing, so I think we were more emotionally damaged. We did not get the door fixed for 2 months so that no one else could try to break in since it was locked and now nobody could open it. We finally took it to the dealership to get fixed when they brought it out it had 3 silver door handles and the broken one they replaced with a black one. They said sorry we don't carry the silvers ones! ONLY IN CHAI COUNTRY. We didn't write about it right away cause It was a little emotional for us because we know the realities of what could of happened! We are thankful TBMU protected E that day.
