Rina's Husband

Rina's husband is in the hospital. She came to us Monday morning sobbing, saying he had been sick for 10 days (throwing up, not eating or drinking, etc.). He has had TB twice in the the past, one of which was this past year. So, this adds to his inability to recover quickly from sicknesses. They had done some testing at a hospital, but because of their caste and the fact that they are poor, the doctor didn't really give them the time of day. Seeing her distress, I called Jake home from the English school to take them to a better hospital. Jake waited with them all day, getting them checked in, paying their bills and making sure they were treated properly. They ran many tests, one of which showed a lesion left over from TB on his lung. His liver numbers were off, his blood platelet count was low and he was extremely dehydrated. He has had a "hard style of living." This, coupled with his past sickness makes this event not all that surprising. Turns out he had an infection his body could not fight of on its own. He seems to be doing much better this evening, however. Thanks for praying! As many of you know this does not come at a great time financially for us, but without asking a dear friend and guest in our city, paid for almost all his medical bills! It's amazing how TBMU takes care of us.
