Lily

Lily is a lady from Mussoorie. She lives about a 30 min walk from where we are staying. She came to us looking for some work, since she has no food to eat. Her story is not that much different from the sad stories we hear so often here in Chai Country. She was married to an alcoholic who beat her so much that people thought she was going crazy. She lost her job as a nurse because of how badly her husband beat her. She had 3 children. A few years ago her oldest son disappeared they have no clue what happened to him. Then one night while her husband was drunk he gave away there land. The next day their middle child a daughter hung her self in the jungle on the mountain here because she knew this met her family had nothing left. After a while some of the workers who live up here started going to Lily's village and her and her husband excepted TBMU as there One and Only. They reconciled, forgave each other and then loved each other. What a beautiful picture of what TBMU can do. 2 months ago Lily's husband passed away and her and her 1 remaining son live in a village with nothing not even food. She just wants a little money so that she can eat. We are so great full to have such a woman of faith in our lives for the short 6 weeks we are up here.
Little E and Lily
"Every day we walk out our front gates and face a multitude of harassed, helpless and spiritually hungry people who have nothing to eat. We hear Jesus say, "You give them something to eat," and so we offer the few small loaves of bread and fish that we have. How many of the multitude can we really feed? I don't know. But if we are willing to pursue the sacramental life together, then I have every reason to hope that we may actually find ourselves feeding thousands, because we were first willing to be found in His hands. Soli Deo. " ~Our AL of Chai Country
